Vulcanicity Objectives SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES The learner should be able to: Give examples of vulcanicity extrusive and intrusive features Vulcanicity or vulcanism is the process by which gases and molten rock from the interior of the earth are intruded into the earth's crust or extruded onto its surface. When the molten material, that is magma, is intruded into the crust, it solidifies, forming intrusive features. While 'when it is extruded onto the surface of the earth, it solidifies to form extrusive features. These are the features referred to as volcanic landforms. Volcanic mountains Volcanic mountains are formed through the process known as Volcanicity.
